The Rebels Auto Club in Lincoln, Nebraska are holding a raffle for the Josh Grimes Memorial Scholarship Project. The prize is a 1986 Mustang GT convertible. For the past few years, about once a year, a certain 1982 model year Mustang shows up for sale. It is purported to be a Mustang SS. The Mustang SS seems to be what Ford thought of calling the Mustang GT, before it was decided to go with GT. In 1981, Ford offered an Escort SS, but the SS was dropped the following year, and eventually replaced by the Escort GT. The mention of this car and the phantom SS badge always generates interest. |
